Business Need

Vault Pressure Control, originally a unit of Baker Hughes, became an independent entity in 2020. They faced the challenge of establishing their own IT infrastructure within a tight deadline of 60 days. Key challenges included deciding which infrastructure components to retain and determining the need for hardware and networking upgrades. With 600 employees and multiple locations, the company had to ensure a smooth transition while serving its oil and gas drilling customers.

Solution

NexusTek began by assessing Vault Pressure Control’s existing IT infrastructure and determined the need for a complete overhaul across all office and field locations. This involved installing new networking and a phone system nationwide, refreshing outdated hardware, and coordinating the migration of data to a new cloud-based infrastructure, including the transfer of Microsoft 365 accounts.

To protect their digital assets, Vault Pressure Control sought a cybersecurity program and NexusTek delivered a custom plan with multi-factor authentication (MFA), email filtering, and employee security awareness training. NexusTek also provided support for cyber resilience through a business continuity and disaster recovery plan. For seamless IT operations, Vault Pressure Control opted for NexusTek’s Complete IT Services, complemented by a dedicated engineer, and added Virtual CIO (vCIO) services for ongoing technology leadership and consultation.

As Vault Pressure Control made the momentous transition to an independent business, NexusTek ensured a seamless establishment of their new IT infrastructure. Within an ambitious 60-day window, NexusTek efficiently orchestrated the creation of a hybrid cloud system, empowering Vault Pressure Control’s operations without disruptions. NexusTek’s business continuity and disaster recovery plans ensure continuous operation and data protection. Employing NexusTek’s vCIO services also led to unexpected savings through IT Spend Assessment, yielding approximately $27,000 in optimized expenses and efficient resource allocation, benefiting Vault Pressure Control’s growth.
